We spent two nights here and loved every second! We opted to end both of our nights at the inn’s bar/restaurant because the food was delicious, the staff was fun and attentive, and the patrons were so friendly! Rooms were spotless and beds very comfortable. Can’t say enough about it. We are recommending to everyone!

Our family went to the Easter Sunday brunch and we were so impressed! Everyone was so friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. Every detail was perfect. Even the ketchup was homemade and delicious. The owner should be very proud of what he has done there. We will definitely be back regularly now.

I’m writing this while still in the restaurant. When you enter you are greeted by an externally sweet host. We were shown the dinning room and seated extremely fast. As we were being seated we immediately noticed the walls adorned with historical artifacts. Most with presidential signatures such as Abraham Lincoln. After ordering from an extremely sweet hostess she said we could look around. While exploring we believ we met the owner who then showed us portions of the building built in the 1600’s and 1700’s. The architect was absolutely beautiful. Upon arriving back to our seat our food came out and let me tell you. The best French fry’s and ranch we have ever had. The burger was great and the clam cakes were to die for . Would give this place a 10 if possible.

The General Stanton Inn really is a hidden gem of Rhode Island. I’m not sure how I had never found it after growing up in the area, but it’s worth every bit of the drive if you’re coming from out-of-state. The food is incredible, and staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. The inn itself has a really interesting history that they have done a great job in preserving. Definitely worth the trip.

Stay in a room from the 1700s. Good service, comfortable rooms, and a very unique experience. The inn keeper and staff are friendly and helpful. You must have dinner in the restaurant. Creative taste combinations. I have to go back and try more on the menu. The tomatoe soup is fantastic. The clam chowder is full of clams. Be sure to try it out.

The scallops on rosemary skewers were cooked to perfection! I paired it with lemongrass rice, delicious mild flavor, and honey carrots. I tried a few bites of hubby's fried cod, and it was delicious. Really good sized piece of fish. Nice atmosphere, great service, delicious food.

We stayed at The General Stanton Inn with my family. The rooms were beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean, and the bed was SO comfortable. Kudos to the chef for many amazing dinnners and sauces. The staff could not have been friendlier or more accommadating. The historical nature of the Inn is one of their high points and they have worked hard to maintain it's historical significance and elegance. We loved our stay and highly recommend the General Stanton Inn.

Me and my husband had our wedding reception here on the 21st of December. Food was great, guests were happy, and not only that, but I felt totally control of the night. If you are looking for a vintage themed/ Christmas wedding this spot is for you. Jackie was lovely to work with.
